We are so encouraged by the wonderful response we received after our Academy for Evangelism Equip Seminars in Newcastle. It really was a wonderful time. People came from all over the Hunter Valley region and even as far as Sydney. We endeavoured to keep the sessions as practical as possible. Topics included the Theology of the Gospel, the media and evangelism, the local church and evangelism and how to lead a person to Christ.
Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and especially the beautiful morning and afternoon teas as well as the light lunch. The ladies of the Baptist Tabernacle Church did an outstanding job in catering.
As well as using our speakers we used messages on video from Will Graham, Luis Palau, Malcolm Gill and Karl Faase. The time flew by so quickly.
Everyone was given a pack of literature with ‘HELPS’ for the work of evangelism to take away with them. We believe that this is such an important means to train Believers in this all-important work of evangelism.
As well as proclaiming the Gospel we need to train people how to winsomely share their faith. An axeman does not waste his time when sharpening his axe. The time we spent together, has helped to put evangelism back on the radar screen. So many told me of a renewed desire to share the Gospel.
Please pray for us for wisdom as to where to take these Equip Seminars. We want to go to many places here in Australia as well as overseas.
In late May we will join Will Graham in Tasmania for the outreach events there.
