“Preach the Word…”

2 Timothy 4:2

I have asked Darin to write something about the incredible time we had in Nauru. How I thank you so very much for your prayer and your support to make it all possible. 

The tiny island nation of Nauru had been praying for three years for an evangelist to visit their shores, and Bill Newman was the one who answered the call. With Mick Corey and Rodney Trinidad overseeing arrangements and providing training for more than 40 pastors, the stage was set for a local sports Centre to be transformed into a stadium. The people responded with enthusiasm as over 15% of the entire nation turned up to hear the gospel, including government representatives from two island countries.

Local youth groups sang and danced their way into the evening, and Darin Browne set the stadium alight with exciting and moving music.

It was then that Bill strode to the platform and delivered a heartfelt message imploring the people to consider their eternal soul. At the end of the message, Bill called for people to respond to the gospel, and half the audience came forward to receive or recommit their lives to Christ. Local pastors reported that they had never seen anything like this in the nation before, and the team were convinced that this weekend has caused a seismic shift in the spiritual atmosphere across the entire island. The simple gospel of Jesus Christ is transforming the entire community, and we ask you to continue to pray for the people and churches of Nauru

Already we have heard that excitement is growing. Some came down to Nauru returning with the news of the great blessing there. Already there are 300+ young people signed up to do the Tell Team Training.
