“It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known,
so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.”
Romans 15:20
Please help sponsor a ‘truck’ for a day – Tarawa Atol Outreach
VENUE: The Kiribati national Sports Arena is where Bill Newman Ministries will host the outreach and we are praying that The Holy Spirit draws many thousands of people into the venue to hear Bill preach the Gospel.
For just $250 we an hire and pack a TRUCK for a day
TRANSPORT: Unlike most Pacific Nations that have good transportation options, Kirabati has a slightly “modified” mode of public transport. Not buses, but trucks with make-shift roofs added for shade & rain resistance.
These are the “buses” that we will be looking to hire, to bring as many people as possible from the outer regions into the sports arena. Please pray that many trucks / “buses” are loaded up with families to hear the Gospel message.
We are so much looking forward to going to Tarawa but we need your help. Not this time for buses but for these smaller trucks to bring folk to the meetings!
We also need help for the overall expenses like follow-up literature and travel. We would be so very grateful for your help.
The HISTORY of Tarawa Atol and the BATTLES
TARAWA – KIRABATI ISLAND: Kirabati (pronounced Kiribas) is an independent Pacific Nation with a population of approximately 130,000 locals across its many small islands. Tarawa homes roughly half of the overall population.
ECONOMY: Whilst currently classified as an “Least Developed Country” (LDC) the locals are vibrant, friendly and extremely welcoming to visitors from abroad. They are heavily reliant on the fishing industry (especially tuna) to sustain their modest way of life.
GEOGRAPHY: Kiribati is located approximately halfway between Australia and Hawaii, straddling the equator and the international dateline.
HISTORY the BATTLE OF TARAWA: Kirabati is also known for an intense, yet short battle between the American & Japanese forces during WW2. The Battle of Tarawa raged for only 75 hours, yet due to the low, sandy terrain, the battle would claim more than 6,400 Japanese, Korean and American troops.
THE NEW BATTLE
What is very evident is the need for the Gospel, and whilst there, meeting with some Pastors and Church Leaders, it was made clear to us that no evangelists tend to visit this nation due to its remoteness, climate and lack of infrastructure.
As such, the local leaders are absolutely thrilled that Bill Newman and his team have offered their assistance in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this nation.
Report from Mick Cory
We are SO very grateful for your help.
Together winning the Lost.

Newcastle Baptist Tabernacle
Once again, Bill had a wonderful time preaching at the Newcastle Baptist Tabernacle. He even got to share our latest edition of our ‘Welcome to the Family’ book for new Christians. This version is wonderful to use in the Islands as it is so compact with a fun cover. We are selling these at the same price of our usual more in-depth ‘Welcome to the Family’ books of $5 each available in our on-line store https://store.bnm.org.au/all-products/resources/books/tr108-2/
