Thousands of tourists flock to Sri Lanka each year, drawn by its white beaches, clear blue waters, and culturally-rich cities. Behind this glowing picture, however, Sri Lankans are still picking up the pieces of their lives. Years of battles between government troops and separatists in a 26-year-long civil war ending in 2009 has left some 100,000 people dead and an economy crippled.
Because of this Sri Lanka is now so open to the Gospel.
This is why we want to invest our time into this nation now. Kandy is a very important city in Sri Lanka. Once every year their elephants are brought out and highly decorated to lead the processions through the streets.
From August 9-14 we will be proclaiming the Gospel in Kandy.
Please pray for protection and that God will move in a powerful way.
