If ever there was a time to pray and ask, that time is now.
We have unanswered prayers because we have unoffered prayers. It has been well said that prayer cannot save people, but it certainly can put the wheels in motion for their salvation. Bishop J.C. Ryle said, “The wheels of all machinery for extending the Gospel are moved by prayer”.
Our nation and the world need prayer as never before. We must realise the day of our visitation. The Middle East is a powder keg ready to explode. (There are 200,000 rockets in nations around Israel ready to launch and called The Ring of Fire). Our nation is concerned about the military build-up to our north. After this pandemic it is doubtful we will ever go back to a normal. These and many more things that are happening worldwide, are all a foreshadowing of things to come. As Johnny Cash used to sing, “Mathew 24 is knocking at the door”.
This time, I believe, can prepare us for a mighty moving of the Spirit of God. Fear permeates our society as thousands line up to be inoculated from this virus. We, as Believers don’t live in fear, we live by faith.
A scared world needs a fearless church.
Our message is more important than ever. But first, we must pray. John Wesley said. “God does nothing except in response to believing prayer”.
The words of our Lord should be constantly ringing in our ears.
“Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. [38] Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38
